Addresses

Hi guys! Would you mind posting addresses either here or on Moran forum? I don't have Joe - Christopher - Eric and Alana or Nicole...

Back to the Drawing Board

While I truly appreciate Eric's hard work and participation with the look of the blog, it just seems that in the end, the original look was best. I've added everything I had before and look forward to Eric and Michael adding any other fancy little buttons and gadgets that will make this blog better. You'll notice that I've added two picture gadgets at the top. I figure instead of wasting time uploading photos onto a URL site and then linking to them (like photobucket, etc.), I can just replace these on a regular basis from my cpu or Keene. I also went into every post and added a suitable category. They are listed as well for easy searching....

As you are all aware, posting is a rather difficult task for all of us. Cheryl and I have our hands full, as do all of you. I'll do my utmost to post something on a weekly basis. Perhaps if all of you can do so, we can get at least four to five posts every month.

Perhaps Billy can update us on his adventures in Idaho (strike the banjos, Bobby Joe!), or Mary and Mark can offer us tales from the Wild West (blow on that bottle, Dilbert!). Joe can tell us how life is in the deep South (Suuuuuuuueeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy, Jeb!!!). Bobby can write how the family is doing in sunny San Fran (Uhhh....groovy man, that's righteous). Finally Tom and Cheryl and  Mom and Dad can carry on about our droll lives in the big city (which is too normal for a song people).

And finally, lest we forget or if we have forgotten, Happy 21st Birthday to Eric Jones and a belated congratulations to both Eric and his lovely wife on their upcoming addition to the family (suckas, your lives are over).

Happy Fathers Day

For those of us who must toil and suffer for our children and wives, let me toast you. As the famous philosopher Homer Simpson once said, "Fatherhood isn't easy like Motherhood."

The Prodigal Son

Good evening to all (or whatever time of day it is). I apologize for the very long delay. I'm sure Dad is shaking his head right now, confident that he was correct in wondering if this blog would turn out like all the other ideas. I appreciate Eric's passion and fortitude in maintaining this blog. Granted, he ignored all my pleas and requests, but interestingly, his template choice was also my original choice. However, the download was corrupted, or just faulty; I couldn't get it to work. That's when I settled on the parchment template. My biggest complaint about the parchment template was the size of the font headings on my gadgets (archives, authorial, other links). So I would like to poll the family as to what they prefer. Over the past few days, I've been searching for my ultimate template, but to no avail. I'm looking for a template in the form of a book, considering the title of the blog is Family Chronicle. I have found one that is fairly close, and may upload it for you all to peruse. Anyway, for those who do read this blog regularly (total 6 perhaps?) what would you prefer? Please enter your preference as a comment to this post. At the end of the week, we can take action, or take no action.....

What does Mom Mean?

Mom has suggested that I post this Dennis the Menace cartoon to the blog. I don't know why she suggested it. Do any of you know what she is thinking? Surely this isn't an attempt to besmirch my image!

Getting Pretty Messy...

Alright Tom, its time to get this Blog under control. I looked around and found no option to allow someone administrative control from blogger. However, I noticed that you do not use gmail, or other google services, so its no issue at all to let me log in as you for a day as I edit you CSS layout and tidy this blog up a little so that it has a more logical navigation scheme and such. SO... My suggestion is that you go ahead and change your google password for the account associated with this blog. Just change it to something like P@$$W0RD , or @DM!N!$TR@T0R. Then let me know what it is. After I am done making my changes, Ill have you log in and change it back to the original password.

One Year Ago Today

Do you all remember where you were one year ago today? Here is a big hint! I was really glad to get this picture. It was the first time we had a picture of all of you together for nearly 20 years.

This is meant to be a "general" post.  I'm interested to see where it will appear.  You told me, Tom,  you had a setup for a "general" category.  I looked all over for it, had to click on older posts two or three times and finally found it at the bottom of your first post.  Let me suggest that if you want the "general" category to be used it should always be accessible from the top of the blog.   Thanks for setting this up.  I hope everybody uses it.

I know I'm missing something here.....another Anniversary, or something?

Never thought I would do this....

I've been an avid reader of blogs for several years now (mainly political blogs). I once toyed with the idea of setting up a political blog, but stepped back and realized that I'm not that kind of person. What kind of person, you might ask, would blog politics and national news? Well, I can attest, after much experience that this person typically has mental issues. Call it what you will: Egotistical A-Hole; Napoleon Complex; Obnoxious; or Crude and Rude. I've no problem reading the blogs if they offer good material, but to become one of "them" is out of the question. Nor will I ever sign up on Facebook, MySpace, or any other freako website. I shudder thinking about it. So why am I doing this? I'm fortunate to live in the same city with the bulk of my family. Mom and Dad are only a few miles away; although Bobby and the family are moving, they'll no doubt return to take their place on the very edge of civilization. Michael, Mary and Joe decided to hitch up the wagon and homestead in the country (cue the banjos, please). Be that as it may, we still live in the same valley and are at most only 2 days travel by stagecoach and mule. Despite the close proximity to one another, however, it is still difficult in this day and age to communicate with one another. Life is hectic in this day and age; we all have things to do and places to go. Calls are occasional, visits even less frequent. Even more difficult is trying to communicate with nephews and nieces who are now living...well, out there with my Green Acre siblings. It occurred to me not too long ago that this would be a decent way to talk with each other. All my Sib's could post to this blog, and update their busy lives, or reminisce about good times. Dad could post a short blurb about the mechanical gifts of the son of his favorite son. He could renew discussions with young Eric over Church Doctrine. Mother and Father could post stories of their childhood, or updates to Family History. Pictures can also be uploaded (after being stored on Keene of course). I think it's safe to say that this avenue of communication differs significantly from those of political blogs. I'm not doing this because I'm a sicko and a crackpot; it's because I want to be close to family when we haven't the time otherwise. It's taken awhile to find the right template, and of course, I'm learning the ropes regarding everything else. Maybe one of my brethren, or sisthren know how to do this sh**. Thank you and have a great evening.
